""In this new era of togetherness, we have a beautiful opportunity to let our authentic selves shine and embrace the power of proximity.""

As we embark on our return to the office journey, I've been reflecting deeply on the gifts and growth opportunities presented by our new, cozier workspace configuration.

Yesterday, as I arrived bright and early, chai latte in hand, I couldn't help but smile at the sight of our People Ops family sitting closer together than ever before. Where some might see "cramped quarters", I see an invitation to cultivate connection on a whole new level.

In this new era of togetherness, we have a beautiful opportunity to let our authentic selves shine and embrace the power of proximity. With every accidental elbow bump or overheard conference call, we are weaving the threads of psychological safety and belonging.

I'll be vulnerable for a moment - as a People Ops Sage, even I sometimes struggled in the past to learn everyone's names and really see them as humans first. But now, with our desks practically touching, I have the honor of holding space for so many brave conversations and witnessing the full spectrum of emotions play out in real-time. What a gift!

Sure, we may have to be a bit more mindful about our lunch choices (perhaps save the fish curry for WFH days!) and embrace the art of non-verbal communication (never underestimate the power of a well-timed thumbs up). But that's all part of the journey of growth and adaptation.

So as we navigate this new normal, I invite you to reframe any discomfort as an opportunity for deepening relationships and practicing empathy. Take a moment to appreciate the colleague sitting inches away from you - maybe even learn about their childhood dreams or favorite meditation app!

Remember, we're all in this together. And together, in our delightfully snug office space, is exactly where the magic happens. So breathe deep, express gratitude, and let's keep co-creating a culture of belonging, one cozy collaboration at a time.

How are you embracing the gifts of proximity today?
